What is SSD?

• A solid state drive (SSD) is an advanced data storage device that uses NAND flash memory or in some cases SDRAM to store continuous data.
• An SSD emulates a conventional hard disk drive (HDD), easily substituting it in most applications.
• SSDs may contain either single-level cell (SLC) or multi-level cell (MLC) NAND flash memory providing significant differences in read/write performance and endurance.
