Iomega Adding Broadcom 10GbE
Card to StorCenter Rackmount NAS by LenovoEMC
What:
- Compatible 10GbE card for increased performance and advanced
networking with new StorCenter network storage arrays from
Iomega.
- For SMBs and distributed enterprise, the
StorCenter px12-400r and top-of-the-line
StorCenter px12-450r are now compatible with available Broadcom
10GbE card, a dual port 10GbE network adaptor card for the StorCenter
px12-400r as well as the StorCenter px12-450r, which can result in I/O
connection speed and failover for advanced networking.

- compatibility with 10Mb, 100Mb, 1Gb and 10Gb media Ethernet ports.
Increased Performance
Utilizing the card with
nStorCenter px12-400r and px12-450r NAS results in I/O performance
improvement over the four GbE ports that come standard on the px12 systems:
- Robocopy: up to 78% faster read and 105% faster
write (with NIC port bonding)
- IOMeter: up to 141% faster read and 67% faster
write (with NIC port bonding)

The same test performed with a single 10GbE port provides
