The Nexsan E18, a member of the Flexible Storage Platform, is
Nexsan's next generation of high performance, high density and energy-efficient
storage solution. The E18 is a next-generation, high performance, 18-drive 2U
storage system. The E18 supports SATA, SAS and SSD drives to flexibly meet
varying storage needs for high performance, high capacity or both. The E18 is
designed for applications that require enterprise-class performance at a
mid-market price.
The system employs the new Nexsan E-Series RAID
controller–available in single or dual controller configurations–and
contains up to four 8Gb Fibre Channel ports and up to four 1Gb iSCSI
ports to deliver higher bandwidth and path resiliency. Nexsan's Active
Drawer Technology™ enables two sliding, active drawers that hold nine
drives in each, allowing them to be quickly and easily serviced by one
person while remaining online. |

Technologies storage systems are warranted for three full years from the
date of shipment. Upon verification of failure, replacement equipment
will be shipped out to our customers. Return material authorizations
will accompany all equipment shipped and can be issued either by our
phone, fax, or email. (warranties are non-transferable without prior
consent from Nexsan) Several levels of service upgrades are available
for purchase. |

| Anti-Vibration Design |
Hard drives are mounted so that all disks are not
spinning in the same direction. In addition, the anti-vibration design
of the chassis provides unprecedented hard drive MTBFs. |

| Cool Drive Technology |
The high density chassis is specially designed for
uniform airflow that ensures optimal thermal operation. The
hot-swappable fans in the front and rear of the active drawers allow
proper push/pull airflow. |

| Fibre Channel and iSCSI SAN Connectivity |
Each controller provides two 8Gb Fibre Channel ports
and two 1Gb iSCSI connections – all four ports can be used
simultaneously in SAN or direct-attached applications to support
multiple workloads. |

| Easy Administration |
A built-in Web server utilizes the dedicated 100Mb/s
Ethernet port to deliver a management GUI that sets the gold standard
for ease-of-use. |

| 2GB Battery-backed Cache per Controller |
The two RISC engines on each controller share a 2GB
high speed cache which is supplied with enough battery power to permit
it to be saved to flash memory in the event of a sudden loss of power. |

| Hardware RAID |
Supports RAID 0, 1, 1+0, 4, 5 and 6 using two
dedicated hardware RAID engines per controller. RAID6 protects against
the failure of two drives in a RAID set. |

| Automatic RAID Set Maintenance |
In the event of a drive failure, spare drives are
automatically added to a RAID set and a RAID set rebuild is run all
without any manual intervention being required. Administrators can
receive email alerts, SNMP alerts or monitor the storage system's health
remotely. |
