Product Description
The SnapDisk E1000 provides flexible expansion for the SnapSAN S1000 series of
products enabling scalability of up to 120TB. The E1000 expansion units can be
populated with up to 12 SAS or SATA drives for a customized mix of price and
performance. With the SnapDisk E1000, you can start small and grow big.
Each E1000 enables you to add your choice of SAS or SATA disk drives to SnapSAN
S1000 systems. In addition, Each S1000 can support up to four E1000 Expansion
Units, giving you flexibility at the time of acquisition to purchase what you
need, and effortlessly scale your storage data as your business requirements
change — over time.
The SnapDisk E1000 provides effortless scalability to meet
your growing storage needs. The E1000 takes advantage of SnapSAN scalability
features to ensure the new capacity will be instantly available without
disruption to users or applications. Each E1000 supports SAS, Enterprise SATA,
or Green SATA drives for a blend of price and performance to fit your specific
storage needs. Up to four E1000 expansion units can be daisy-chained to the
redundant SAS ports on the SnapSAN S1000 system.
The SnapDisk E1000 is designed for high availability. It is
well equipped with fully redundant hot-pluggable components, including redundant
controllers, power supplies, fan modules, and expansion ports providing non-stop
operation. Maximum system availability is achieved with redundant 6Gb/sec SAS
connections.
All E1000 systems support a variety of “Green” features and
advanced cooling mechanisms which maximize energy efficiency and power savings.
The auto disk spin-down feature along with support for Green drive technology
ensures that the system is consuming only the amount of power required to serve
data. Environmental temperatures are monitored and fan modules are automatically
adjusted as needed to keep the system cool and running optimally.
