ATTO Technology Announces Support for Thunderbolt 3
ATTO Technology, Inc. today announced its plans to develop a
full range of solutions based on Thunderbolt 3 technology newly announced by
Intel at Computex 2015. Thunderbolt has become the connectivity choice for
creative professionals as the growth in file sizes and project complexity has
driven users to increase their storage footprint exponentially. The announcement of Thunderbolt 3 support, and expansion of Thunderbolt 2 Desklink Devices, is proof of ATTO’s commitment to provide the most reliable products powering high-performance audio and video workflows.
ATTO has been pleased to work with Intel through the development of Thunderbolt 2 technology and look forward to offering customers the industry's first in what will be a comprehensive line of Thunderbolt 3 technology-enabled products.
ATTO plan to follow Intel’s release timeline, with new Thunderbolt 3 enabled Desklink Devices expected to debut in early 2016.”
With a complete portfolio of low profile Thunderbolt 2 to 10GbE, Fibre Channel, SAS/SATA and SAS RAID Desklink Devices, ATTO continues to provide the only full line of Thunderbolt enabled adapters for storage and network connectivity on the market. Desklink Devices are ideal for creative professionals who need access to external storage and networks for I/O demanding applications such as data back-up and restoration, video-on-demand and video streaming as well as 2K, 4K, 3D and ultra-high-definition video post-production workflows.
ATTO also announced today the expansion of its Thunderbolt 2 to 10GbE line with two new ThunderLink designs, the NS2101 and NS2102. The NS2101 offers dual Thunderbolt 2 inputs and a single 10GbE optical output. It delivers high bandwidth over a single link, and provides a lower total cost of ownership via multiple offloads for lower processor usage and increased throughput. The NS2102 offers dual Thunderbolt 2 inputs and dual 10GbE optical outputs. Both ThunderLink Desklink Devices have a 60% lower footprint than previous full height models and new fan designs for reduced power and cooling costs. The NS2101 and NS2102 have received full certifications for Mac OS X and Windows environments, and are backwards compatible with Thunderbolt.
