Qualstar's Q80 scalable enterprise tape library is designed to be Simply Reliable, providing superior performance and scalability for short-term backup, disaster recovery, and long-term archiving requirements. The 6U-high libraries utilize LTO-7, LTO-8, LTO-9 or LTO-10 tape drives, and each unit delivers up to 2.4 PB (LTO-10 native) or 6.0 PB (LTO-10 compressed) of storage capacity. The Q80 base unit may be connected to up to six additional expansion modules, creating a single library system that can store up to 42 PB (compressed) in a single 42U rack. These modular additions give your Q80 system room to grow alongside your business—allowing you to expand cartridge capacity from 80 slots to 560 slots and increase throughput by adding up to 42 tape drives. Even when utilizing multiple stacked library modules, the Q80 uses a single robot to service all drives and media, maximizing cost effectiveness.

The operator control panel uses an intuitive GUI and incorporates wizards making the system easy to configure and operate. An integrated browser-based remote management interface (RMI) enables IT administrators to remotely configure, manage, and diagnose the library from anywhere in the world. The Q80 system is easy to service and repair, with field replaceable tape drives, power supply and controller board units.
