The RLS-8350 is the second generation of Qualstar’s well-respected RLS Series of Simply Reliable automated, high capacity rack mountable tape libraries. Offering superior performance and value, the RLS-8350 base unit provides a capacity of up to 600 terabytes (in LTO-8 native mode). Using data compression, capacity can increase to 1.5 petabytes. The base unit contains 50 tape cartridge slots and a single 4-slot I/O port. It can house up to 4 half-height LTO-7 or LTO-8 tape drives. |

The RLS-8500 Series extends Qualstar’s RLS family of Simply Reliable automated tape libraries to users requiring high capacity, expandable rack mount storage solutions. Delivering superior performance and value, RLS-8500 Series libraries provide initial capacities up to 1.37PB(in LTO-8 native mode) in just 10U. Using typical data compression ratios, each module can exceed 3.4PB. The RLS-8560 base unit contains 54 data cartridge storage slots and a dedicated four-slot I/O port, but upgrading to the RLS-85120 model provides up to 114 cartridge slots. Both libraries can house up to seven half-height LTO-7 or LTO-8 tape drives. |
