Sphere 3D RDX QuikStor USB3+ Backup Appliance by Overland Storage

Sphere 3D Corporation announced the RDX QuikStor backup appliance, a portable USB3+ powered RDX with expansion to larger than 2TB capacity media through groundbreaking RDX+ software technology.

Available from BackupWorks.com, the RDX QuikStor is a ruggedized backup appliance solution that provides secure and reliable removable storage for backup, archive, data exchange, and DR. Designed as an enterprise solution, it is suited for distributed enterprise workgroups and SMB environments. The USB3+ technology eliminates the need for external power supply requirements for RDX devices, making the RDX QuikStor a fit in environments where data portability and encrypted data security are essential.

In addition to the portability capabilities, with USB3+, RDX QuikStor customers can achieve enterprise performance and transfer rates up to 936GB/hour and capacities of up to 2TB per cartridge, plus future expansion to larger capacity media enabled by RDX+ technology. The RDX QuikStor features backward and forward compatibility for Sphere 3D customers and partners to allow users to upgrade to higher capacity media without compromise.

The new RDX QuikStor with USB3+ technology enhances data protection and mobility, and gives organizations more flexibility on how, when and where their employees can collect, share and protect information.

The RDX QuikStor appliance integrates with AccuGuard backup software with deduplication, and with SnapServer NAS or NEO tape libraries, automating several manual backup operations. Customers using a combination of SnapServer and RDX QuikStor experience data transfer because of the integration with Guardian OS. Administrators deploying multiple QuikStor appliances in their environment can further installation and media rotation by consolidating up to four QuikStor appliances in a standard 19-inch rack cabinet with a RDX QuadPAK 1.5U rackmount kit.
