ATTO Technology Announces Complete Portfolio Support for the New Mac OS
X Yosemite
ATTO Technology, Inc., today announced its continued
commitment to Apple and its innovations with Mac OS X Yosemite driver support
for its Celerity Fibre Channel Host Bust Adapters (HBAs), 6Gb/s ExpressSAS
SAS/SATA HBAs and RAID Adapters, FastFrame Network Interface Cards (NICs) and
Converged Network Adapters (CNAs) as well as Thunderbolt Desklink Devices.
Today’s announcement makes ATTO the only high-performance connectivity provider
with a full portfolio of adapters available on the market that support the
latest Apple operating system. Customers can download the latest drivers
immediately.
As
the recognized leader in powering high-performance workflows for over 25 years,
ATTO’s portfolio of network and storage connectivity products address all
aspects of media production and IT infrastructure with fully integrated
solutions that support each step in the process from content creation to
monetization. The new OS X Yosemite operating system sets a new standard for
Apple OS performance and complements why users rely on ATTO products. Mac OS X
has long been a platform of choice for creative professionals, and applications
such as HD and 4K digital production and video editing have expanded file sizes
and project complexity, pushing users to grow their storage footprint
exponentially. For its part, ATTO has continued to innovate and provide the most
reliable products powering these high-performance infrastructures, including the
most demanding applications in media and entertainment, government and
education, scientific, and large data block environments.
“The Apple community has consistently
relied on ATTO to power every facet of high-performance infrastructures and
together have revolutionized workflows from creation to delivery,” said Wayne
Arvidson, vice president of marketing and channels at ATTO Technology, Inc.
“ATTO’s decades long relationship with Apple, and the release of these drivers,
demonstrate our continuing commitment to Apple’s operating system, further
allowing Mac users access to the latest technology needed to meet their
increasing demand for faster storage and network connectivity solutions.”
Apple’s highly anticipated release last year of the
redesigned Mac Pro, coupled with ATTO’s release of Thunderbolt enabled Desklink
products, sparked the imagination of the high-end creative professional. As a
pioneer in Thunderbolt enabled solutions, ATTO has worked closely with Apple to
provide connectivity to high performance Fibre Channel and SAS/SATA storage, as
well as 10Gb/s Ethernet. Earlier this year, ATTO released its newest extension
of the Desklink family, Thunderbolt 2 enabled products with transfer speeds at
20Gb/s, ideal for the creative professional who needs access to external storage
and networks for I/O demanding applications, including 2K, 4K, 3D and ultra
high-definition video post-production workflows.
ATTO also offers several software-based
productivity and performance-enhancing solutions for the Apple market supporting
OS X Yosemite. Xtend SAN iSCSI Intiatiator software allows Mac users to garner
the benefits of Internet SCSI (iSCSI), one of the fastest growing storage
networking protocols today. With iSCSI, users can use key SAN applications such
as collaborative digital video/audio workflows, laptop connectivity to SANs, and
remote backups. In addition, ATTO’s Express Power Center software is a disk
storage RAID application that allows users to maximize attached storage when
using ATTO Celerity Fibre Channel HBAs, ExpressSAS/SATA and RAID Adapters and
Desklink Devices for everything from digital content creation to large scale
databases.
