Imation RDX - Will continue as Tandberg Data RDX
Overland-Tandberg, which owns the licensing technology
for RDX Removable Disk Storage as well as the two big brands Tandberg Data and
Imation will begin phasing out the Imation RDX brand this quarter and plans to
completely phase out the Imation brand by end of quarter September 30, 2017.
RDX is still in a stellar growth phase, and popularity of
the removable disk storage technology is excellent especially in the SMB /
multi-office / multi-location space. With capacities of 4TB per cartridge
currently and plans for future generations imminent, the future looks bright for
Overland-Tandberg. Current docking stations include the external USB 3.0,
internal USB 3.0 and a new SATA III internal RDX docking station. Also
currently available, the very popular 4-bay and 8-bay RDX QuikStation
Appliances. Currently, a single RDX QuikStation 8 has an online capacity
of 32TB and unlimited offline capacity.
