OVERLAND’S SNAP SERVER 410 SCOOPS ZD NET UK’S EDITORS’ CHOICE AWARD
Overland Storage has announced
that its
Snap Server 410 has been named as the winner of
the ZD Net UK Editors’ Choice award for NAS appliances for SMEs.
The award was presented to
Overland following rigorous testing by the ZD Net review team in a strong field
which included products from Synology, Buffalo and Iomega.
“Despite meeting our basic
criteria there were big differences in what the five appliances we evaluated
were able to offer, both in terms of functionality and performance,” summarised
reviewer Alan Stevens. “We eventually awarded the Editors’ Choice to the
Snap Server 410, for its mix of storage
capacity, features and performance in an easy-to-configure appliance that’s well
within the reach of small and medium-sized businesses.”
Mike Collins, Sales Director EMEA,
Overland Snap Server comments, “We are delighted that the
Snap Server NAS appliances are continuing to assert their dominance
in the NAS market. We are keen to build on the existing success of the product
line and have invested in a strong and cohesive development team to promote
further growth.”
Overland Storage acquired the
Snap Server NAS business from Adaptec, including the brand and all
assets related to Snap Server networked and desktop storage appliances, in June
2008.
The
Snap Server 410 is ideal for medium-sized
businesses with less than 4TB of storage needs. It provides outstanding
performance and ease of use in a 1U rackmount NAS system. It is configured with
4 SATA II drives with fixed capacities of 1, 2, or 4TB and supports RAID levels
1 and 5 to keep your data safe.
