XenData Archives Now Support LTO-10

XenData archives now support LTO libraries with LTO-10 drives. Here are the key points about this latest generation of LTO:

• Full height IBM SAS and FC drives are now available
• LTO-10 cartridges have a native (uncompressed) capacity of 30 TB
• Transfer rates are fast at 400 MBytes per second (with FH Drives)
• Not backwards compatible with LTO-9 cartridges
• LTO-10 cartridges do not require pre-calibration (unlike LTO-9)

LTO-10 greatly increases library capacities. For example, an 80-slot library with 70 active slots and 10 mail-slots provides a near-line capacity of over 2 PB.

LTO-10 archive systems with libraries managed by XenData have all the same benefits as previous generations: file-level access, great network compatibility, LTFS providing cartridge interchange, standard Microsoft security based on Active Directory, automatic cartridge replication, unlimited offline cartridge support, optional private cloud interface, Media Portal web search, preview and download for video and image files, etc.
